Peter Heath

Peter spent thirty years in private client and corporate banking, initially with Lloyds Bank. Later he joined Société Générale where he was Director of the Midlands Region. Peter, professionally qualified with the Chartered Institute of Bankers, decided on a career change after an opportunity to take his pension at the age of 50.

He then worked as a consultant for a law firm, DLA Piper, where he spent four years assisting partners with clients in need of impartial banking advice.

It was at this time that a close friend died unexpectedly. At the funeral, the widow told him that her husband had died intestate and would he, Peter, be able to help sort out her late husband's affairs. Because of the complexity of the family business, the matter took over two years to reach a conclusion.

This prompted an interest in all matters pertaining to Wills, estate planning, trusts and probate. As a result Peter joined a company of Willwriters from whom he received his initial training and ongoing professional development. He is now a full member of the Institute of Professional Will writers.

The chance to establish an independent practice arose when he and Jayne found that they shared similar business ideals that would combine to offer a personal and bespoke service, making for a totally confidential approach, visiting people in their own homes.

Peter's background and personality are well suited to this profession; he enjoys meeting people and getting to understand clients' unique situations and aspirations in a very discreet manner.

When not working he can be found on the golf course.

Jayne originally trained, qualified and practised as a chartered accountant with Binder Hamlyn. After gaining further experience in the profession with Arthur Young she moved into industry and became a finance director, most recently with Hallmark Cards PLC. Jayne's last role with the company was that of European Licensing Director. She was also a company nominated pension scheme trustee and the knowledge gained from that role has also played a useful role in Estate Planning activities.

Jayne had no wish to relocate when Hallmark moved north and this coincided with her desire for a change from corporate life and the long hours and time spent away from home that went with the role.

She became interested in estate planning and associated topics, after attending a number of seminars when investigating ways of mitigating inheritance tax for her relatives.

This interest led to Jayne joining a company of Will writers specialising in home visits where she found her accountancy background invaluable in delivering solutions to clients' estate planning issues. She is a strong believer in tailoring products and services to her clients, avoiding fitting people into a predetermined mould. She is personable and approachable and enjoys the challenge that each unique situation brings.

When not working Jayne enjoys tennis and in particular country walks with her border collie, Scai.
