Funeral Requests

You can specify your funeral arrangements in a Will. However whilst it is illegal to cremate a person who has requested burial, no other funeral requests contained in a Will are binding.

The only way to guarantee having a funeral of your choosing is to purchase a Pre-Paid Funeral Plan. (Of course you could threaten to come back and haunt your relatives, but there is no guarantee that this will work.)

If you want specific arrangements for your funeral ensure that your relatives know of them. Most relatives do not read a Will until after the funeral.
